The best layered hair cuts take into consideration the thickness of the hair, the texture, and the head shape! For example if a client has a flat head on top I will give her or him more layeres on top to add height, If a client has a flat spot in the crown, I will also add some layering or texture to that area. Fine, straight hair might benefit from some razored layers, as it forces the hair to move! Very thick hair can usually stand more layering unless if the hair has lots of natural texture, and then your hair designer has to make the call, as highly textured hair might poof up! At any rate layers are larger than ever and here to stay!

As we are inside more, our hair tends to dry out with the artificial heat. try using some good oil like Morrocon oil sparingly in those areas. Just a couple of drops rubbed between the palms of your hands and then applied sparingly in those dry areas. And always apply some oil before flat ironing to protect from the heat of the iron!
